Alserkal Avenue is a vibrant cultural district in the Al Quoz industrial area of Dubai. There are some excellent restaurants in the form of Kokoro (hand roll Korean Japanese sushi bar), Lila Molino (Mexican) and the sultans of sling at Nightjar. Also check out Gulf Photo Plus or GPP - the only dedicated centre for photography in Dubai.
